If you're looking to adventure at your own pace, then a car is usually the most convenient option. Whether you're road tripping with your family across the U.S., chasing the northern lights in four wheel drive or driving with the top down through Greece, protection for your trip and your ride is essential.

If you've ever rented a car, you know that getting to the counter and being asked if you want full coverage can be overwhelming, confusing, and potentially end with your bill doubling. You're also usually itching to start your trip, resulting in little patience and no time to ask all the right questions.

That's why we offer rental car coverage as an optional add-on that can supplement your Faye Travel Protection Plan. Before you put the pedal to the metal on purchasing it, we're sharing with you some basics so you can make the best decision for your next trip.

What is rental car insurance?

Rental car insurance protects the car you're renting against accidents that could happen on the road. Faye offers rental car insurance through our Car Rental Bundle, which you can add to your Plan. This includes Rental Car Damage and Theft Coverage, which covers you from damage while on a trip due to collision, theft, vandalism, natural disaster or any cause beyond your control while the car is in your possession.

Does my personal car insurance cover rental cars?

Your personal auto insurance policy may cover most rental cars with the same coverage limits and deductibles as long as you're renting a car within the U.S. and Canada. If you're traveling outside of North America, your personal auto policy typically doesn't cut it, meaning rental car coverage is crucial when abroad.

What does Faye's Rental Car Care cover?

The Faye Rental Car Care add-on provides up to $50K in coverage for accidental damage by collision, vandalism, natural disaster or theft related to your rental car, along with 24-hour assistance and a smart app where you can easily file claims and get reimbursed.

Faye's Car Rental Care also includes  Travel Inconvenience coverage. So if you go to a beach and it's closed or you find yourself at closed attractions, a dreaded rental vehicle breakdown, you can be reimbursed up to $200 per each with a max of $600 total.

How much is Faye's rental car coverage?

Our Rental Car Care is customizable like our policies, meaning you can choose which days of your trip you need Rental Car Damage and Theft Coverage for and how many cars you'll be renting. Coverage starts at $6.95 a day for California residents and is $7.58 per day for all other U.S. citizens. To review a copy of the plan document, click here.
